These are some of the words in Voddie sermon some few years ago. On 25 September 2025, these words becaume a reality. Voddie rested and went to be the Lord just like he had said.

On 26th September 2025, Founders Ministries through it X Account made this announcement: “We are saddened to inform friends that our dear brother, Voddie Baucham, Jr., has left the land of the dying and entered the land of the living. Earlier today, after suffering an emergency medical incident, he entered into his rest and the immediate presence of the Savior whom he loved, trusted, and served since he was converted as a college student. Please pray for Bridget, their children, and grandchildren.”

Who was Voddie Baucham Jr?

Voddie Baucham was born and raised by a single parent. His turn toward faith came later in life, during his college years, when he embraced Christianity. Academically, he was deeply trained in theology:

Bachelor’s degrees in Christianity and Sociology – Houston Baptist University

Master of Divinity – Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary

Doctor of Ministry – Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary

This foundation shaped him into both a pastor and scholar known for his unapologetic defense of conservative Christian teachings.

Health Challenges and Cause of Death

In 2021, Baucham revealed he had been diagnosed with heart failure, a condition that can be fatal if untreated. That same year, he underwent open heart surgery to repair the damage. While the official cause of death has not yet been confirmed, his long-standing heart issues are widely believed to have contributed. His family and ministry team have not yet released further details.

Career and Ministry Work

Baucham’s ministry spanned across continents:

Zambia (2015–2023): He served as a professor and later as the dean of the School of Divinity at African Christian University, where he became a key figure in training African pastors and leaders.

Florida (2024–2025): Earlier this year, he relocated to Cape Coral, Florida, to help establish Founders Seminary, a division of Founders Ministries. He served as the seminary’s president and board member until his death.

He was also a prolific author of eight books, a well-known conference speaker, and a respected Calvinist theologian.

Relocation From Africa to US

In 2024 Voddie went back to America after serving as the founding dean of African Christian University in Zambia. He wanted to be closer to his family and also he had health problems.
